The Biblical Canon of
the Apostolic Canons
The Apostolic Canons are a series of approximately 80 canons occurring in Book 8, Chapter 47 of the Apostolic Constitutions. The Apostolic Constitutions is a composite work comprising the Didascalia (Books 1-6), the Didache (Book 7), and the Apostolic Tradition (Book 8). Apostolic Constitutions was written in Syria sometime between 375 and 380 A.D. The Biblical canon list is found in Canon 85 (Greek version). The Old Testament list includes the Deuterocanonical books of Judith, Tobit, 1-4 Maccabees, Wisdom of Solomon, Sirach, Baruch, and the Letter of Jeremiah. The New Testament list contains the current New Testament canon, but also includes 1 Clement and 2 Clement, but only includes Revelation in the Ethiopian tradition.
